A good dog bed is indispensable for your dog.
Especially large and heavy dogs need a solid and comfortable bed with a firm and thick mattress, to prevent (sensitive) joints from lying on the hard surface. That is why our XXL dog beds are made of high-quality materials that are resistant to long-term high loads. This way your large four-legged friend can enjoy his or her bed for a long time!
This XXL dog bed is strong enough for large and heavy dogs such as Boxer, Bernese Mountain Dog, Rottweiler, Newfoundland, Saint Bernard etc.! For dogs over 45 kg (or if you just want a thicker mattress for your dog) we recommend choosing our Extra Comfy variant. You can select this option with the mattresses. The extra strong frame and the extra thick cushion make this variant even stronger and more comfortable for the largest and heaviest dogs!

The waterproof covers are easy to keep clean due to the smooth surface and have a beautiful woven look. The waterproof fabrics are provided with a rubber layer on the back, which prevents moisture and dirt from passing through the fabric, and keeps the cushions fresh. A waterproof mattress cover can also be used as an undercover to protect the mattress from dirt and moisture. The dog beds are not suitable for outdoor use, not even with the waterproof cover.

The pillowcase and the edge cover can be washed on a hand wash program. To do this, first remove the mattress from the cover and the inner cushions from the edge. Close all Velcro fasteners before washing to prevent damage to the upholstery. After washing, let the covers air dry before putting them back on the bed.

Stevig en comfortabel bed

Super tevreden met het XXL bed voor onze st Bernard. Nu ze wat ouder is vind ze het fijner om af en toe op een zachte ondergrond te liggen. Het bed is stevig ze kan er met gemak op staan of zitten zonder dat het bed kraakt of doorzakt. De waterdichte heavy duty stof is ideaal: makkelijk schoon te houden en door de donkere kleur zie je er ook niet veel op. Erg tevreden met deze aankoop!

Mooie, stevige en fijne mand voor onze oude grote dame van 13.
Ze moest even wennen, maar nu ligt ze volledig onder zeil ondersteboven in haar nieuwe mand,. De kleine bejaarde mag er ook af en toe in en vindt het net zo lekker.
Fijn is dat de mand op poten staat en ik eronder kan stofzuigen.
Heel blij mee!

Mooi degelijk hondenbed. Netjes afgewerkt, mooie stof en ligt heerlijk (denk ik) want beide honden sliepen binnen enkele minuten in hun nieuwe bedje. Gaan er graag in.

This is how our dog beds work!

  • Placing the cushion in the edge

    The cushion can be placed in the edge via the top. With extra comfy cushions it can be easier to place the cushion via the bottom of the edge. To do this, loosen the black straps of the edge (Velcro closure) and tighten the straps nicely again after placing the cushion.

  • Placing the basket in the frame

    Place the back of the basket tight against the inside of the frame. The raised edge at the bottom of the edge coincides with the cushion in the frame. Also put the basket in the frame on both sides.

  • Almost done...

    Finally, you put the front of the basket in the frame, and if necessary, push the edge and mattress down the last bit. The basket is now quite clamped in the frame, this ensures, together with the straps, that the edge stays in place!

  • Finished!

    If all goes well, the basket should now look something like this! The edge is nicely tucked into the frame, and the straps run under the mattress. The memory foam layer of the mattress is always facing upwards.

Choose a dog bed size

The easiest and most reliable method is to simply measure your dog!
Measure the dog from the tip of his nose to the attachment of the tail. Is this length:
<45 cm then choose size Small
45 - 60 cm choose size Medium
60 - 75 cm then choose size Large
75 – 95 cm then choose size Extra large
95-120 cm then choose size XXL

If in doubt, choose a size larger, a bed that is too small is never comfortable!

Choosing a dog mattress

Foam rubber mattress : Our standard foam rubber mattresses are very nice for most dogs. The thickness and hardness of the mattresses are adapted to the size of the dog bed (and therefore the weight of the dog).

Orthopedic Memory Foam Mattress : Some dogs need a little extra comfort (or are just spoiled by their owner). Then you can opt for a mattress with memory foam. Memory foam provides extra relief on joints, feels warmer and conforms comfortably to the dog's body. Extra nice for older dogs and dogs with joint complaints!

Extra comfy dog ​​beds

For sizes XL and XXL we have an extra option for the dog beds; Extra Comfy.

The extra comfy dog ​​beds have a thicker mattress and a (2 cm) higher frame. These thicker mattresses provide better support, especially for heavier dogs. The heavier the dog, the further the dog sinks into the mattress. For this reason, we always use firm mattresses for the XL and XXL dog beds, but we still recommend choosing the extra comfy version for dogs from approx. 45 kg.

Extra Comfy, extra strong

In addition to the stronger frame, the thicker mattress also provides more load-bearing capacity for the slatted base. How exactly? A dog carries a relatively large amount of weight on a small surface (its paws) when it stands. If your dog wears shoe size 46

The extra thick mattress helps to distribute your dog's weight over several slats when he/she is standing in the basket.
With an extra comfy dog ​​bed, even large dogs such as Saint Bernards, Newfoundlands, Landseer, Bernese Mountain Dogs, etc. can safely step into their basket, stand, sit, and of course lie down!
This large Saint Bernard lady (approx. 75 kg) helps us extensively test the XXL extra comfy dog ​​bed with dark gray waterproof upholstery!

Choosing upholstery; waterproof?

If your dog swims a lot, drools a lot or needs an easy-to-clean bed for some other reason, it is best to choose a waterproof cover. The heavy duty cover is even thicker, stronger and heavier than the grey melange cover, and is also the strongest cover in our range. The colour can of course also be decisive in choosing a certain fabric.
Also baskets with waterproof lining are only suitable for indoor use.

Do you prefer a fabric cover for your dog bed, but do you want to keep the mattress completely clean and fresh? Then you can use a waterproof cushion cover as an undercover.
Please note: multiple covers for the dog basket edge cannot be placed on top of each other.

Dog bed without edge

The best choice for dogs that get hot quickly or like to keep a close eye on everything!

  • Solid mattresses that last up to 10 years!
  • Slatted base for optimal ventilation of the basket to prevent bacteria and mite growth (and bad odors)
  • A long-lasting fresh bed because dirt hardly accumulates and easily falls to the floor along the slatted base

Dog bed with edge

The best choice for dogs that want more security and want to lie against something!

This dog bed has exactly the same base as a dog bed without an edge, but... with an edge.
Some dogs like to lie against something or lay their head on it. Our own dog likes the idea that his paws do not slip out of the way uninvited, and therefore prefers to sleep in a dog bed with an edge.

Does the edge stay in place well?

From time to time I am asked whether the dog bed edge stays in place properly, because this is a separate part of the bed. A logical question that requires an honest answer. Between the photos at the top of this page there is also a video in which we show how the system works.
With normal use we see that the edge remains in place well; the dogs can lie comfortably against or over it without the edge shifting.

If your thief actively tries to push the edge up, the edge will rise a little and you have to stop it again. The straps that run under the mattress prevent the dog from throwing the edge off the bed completely without asking!

Dog bed on legs

Why a dog bed on legs and not on the ground?

Large baskets and beds for the dog

The diameter and strength of the edge is also important to adjust to the size and weight of the dog. The edges that belong to the large baskets are filled harder and are higher than the smaller baskets. This is how we try to make the very best bed for your dog!
